1. eat breakfast. always. even if you’re not hungry, don’t skip it. breakfast boosts your metabolism after night and if you eat it, it’s less possible to binge later
2. don’t fast, never ever. i know, i used to fast a lot, but it’s like a drug - you need it, but it’s really bad for you. you don’t really lose weight while fasting, only water and food weight, so it’s not worth it (to lose fat you would need to fast more than a few days and you might even die if you do that). if you binged, restrict, but please, do not fast.
3. eat only when you’re hungry. it’s not only about losing weight, it’s about eating emotional, what is terrific for your mental health (yeah i know sth about it). if you’re hungry then okay, eat sth small, low-cal. but if you’re just sad/lonely, watch a movie, read a book, go for a walk. after eating you would feel even worse, believe me.
4. if you really crave sth, tell yourself “i can eat it after a few hours/tomorrow”. after this time, if you still crave it, eat it (or take some, for example 5, bites if it’s high-cal). it’s better to eat it in control than to binge on it later.
5. don’t make food your enemy because it is not. and on the other hand, it’s not a reward. you eat to live, it’s like water, sleeping or breathing. remember about it.
6. don’t let yourself be too hungry. it’s okay to be hungry just a little, but if you’re really really hungry you might binge. and it’s bad for you health.
7. feeling hungry? drink water. still feeling hungry after 15 minutes? eat sth.
it’s okay to eat. it’s not okay to binge. remember the difference.
Do you ever wish that the people around you wouldn’t care about your ed? It’s like I appreciate the concern because it shows they care, but having to hide my ed all the time is so exhausting and I just want to tell people that I’m not eating because food makes me want to die and I hate being fat without them giving a shit.

Do you really want to? Is the 5 minutes of happiness worth a life time of being fat? Is the ephemeral taste of a brownie or cupcake worth the feeling of guilt and disappointment after? You know, the one that sticks with you for at least a week and even if when you weigh in you’ve lost weight you think to yourself “I could’ve lost more if I hadn’t eaten x”? No, it’s not worth it. Put down the pizza, or brownie, or whatever it is that’s way over your calorie limit, and pick up a water bottle or an apple.
I wish I had a friend in real life that had the same eating disorder as me so we could support each other in the weight loss and not have to think about the toxicity of the relationship

So you binged, that’s okay hun. You’re gonna be alright, just have some green tea and eat a little less tomorrow. Remember what you will look like in a few months. The jealous stares that you will get. The short skirts. The big sweaters in fall. I know that a few months sounds like a long time but it will be quicker than it sounds. You’ll get there, you’ll be perfect soon. Just don’t binge again, stick to tea and water for cravings and you will be thin.
